At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Hani stressed the need for continuity of work to serve the beneficiaries, and to overcome the foggy reality by increasing mobilization and advocacy, building partnerships, integrating aspects of training and education with all the proposed programs and projects, and focusing on the basics and priorities, the most important of which are education, livelihoods and health for the beneficiaries.
With the aim of empowering humanitarian organizations in Turkey and working to help them in the continuity of their success and humanitarian activity, the first phase of the round table meetings was held at the headquarters of the Orphans Care Federation - Istanbul on September 11, 2019, in the presence of Dr. Hani Al-Banna - President of the Humanitarian Forum in Britain, with the participation of 22 people Representatives of 12 charitable organizations, all working with programs and projects that benefit Syrian refugees in Turkey.
"What then?" The title of the speech in which Dr. Hani opened his speech was, where it focused on that the first and last goal of humanitarian work is “serving the beneficiary”, considering it the message that created humanitarian work, during which it was noted the importance of moving away from narrow institutional accounts in competition during work with beneficiaries, and avoiding Laying partisan, ideological, political and emotional barriers between organizations working together, and indicating that the risks of this could negatively affect the achievement of support for beneficiaries and the continuity of the organization.
The participants in the meeting discussed many issues related to the problematic issues of Syrian refugees in the region, which were affected by a number of developments and transformations on the ground, such as: correcting the situation in accordance with government legislation and the importance of diversity in financial resources, as they were identified as axes for the meeting after lengthy consultations by the Union With local organizations operating in Turkey.
The participants were divided into four focus groups, and they discussed the topics of the meeting during two separate sessions, and each group came up with its answers and suggested recommendations and presented them to the audience in brief. The order of the groups has also been changed to increase brainstorming and come up with new ideas and proposals that enrich the discussion.
