In the presence of directors of organizations, consultants, and experts in humanitarian work in general and in the field of orphan care in particular, the Orphans Care Federation held a preparatory workshop for the Global Charter for Orphan Care on April 26, 2024 in Istanbul. Among the outcomes of the workshop is the development of a road map for the mechanism of action within the draft charter, and the main important aspects that should be taken into account during it. The Charter constitutes a very important step towards improving the care provided to orphans and enhancing consensus between international and local organizations caring for orphans on the ethical foundations, practical standards and terminology relevant to the field of orphan care.
